Like many other reviewers I found this Tom Tom One GB worked brilliantly straight out of the box, was fast, pretty accurate in navigation, and really simple to use. Six months later the thing is as dead as a dodo. At five months started loosing battery charge. Last week failed to start at all. Tried the web site advice - overnight charging, hold reset button for 1 minute, then hold on button for 30secs. Nothing. Googled info suggests boot loader corruption fault, apparently this is not uncommon, a fatal flaw. No, I won't buy another one. No, I won't recommend Tom Tom. TomTom ONE Great Britain GPS v2

This Tom Tom One GB is a well-built product that worked straight out of the box. Start-up guide was easy to follow and GPS signal processed within 5 seconds (outside) here in the UK. The software is easy to use but it is important to make sure you check and install the latest version (informs you of a later version). Downloads and updates worked fine but backup seems slow but a lot of data is transferred through the USB link provided. TomTom ONE Great Britain GPS v2
This Tom Tom One GB has done exactly what it said on the tin... It was a doddle to set up, found my location instantly. I downloaded the latest version of Home and installed it on my PC. The Tomtom connected with no problems, did all it updates online. I've even got the unit to talk to my phone via bluetooth to get all the traffic updates etc. |
