I had the same problem with the screen going blank and remaining illuminated as a previous reviewer. Couldn't turn it off either, and the handbook didn't help. However, by delving on the Tomtom web site, I found that it has a reset button, and bingo, it's worked perfectly ever since. Speed camera limits have proved inaccurate on a couple of occaisions, but each time the device has understated the limit NOT overstated it. It's also got me out of trouble on the M4 and found great alternative routes. Whatever, I think it's a great piece of kit. I've deducted 1 star because of the handbook. Review: Tom Tom Go 710
I bought a 510 GO in March and at the beginning of May it was stolen. I bought another only to find the maps were more out of date than my original. I swapped it for a Go Tom Tom 710 as it was thought that this was more up to date (difficult to tell when in a sealed box). Sadly this was not the case. There are roads marked "unnamed road" that were correctly named on the previous device, and there are some roads that have been in existence for 3 or 4 years that it doesn't recognise at all. |
